Bandits, Clowns and the Criminal Enterprise...

In a country where everything and everyone seems to have a price, we appear to be delving deeper and deeper into a dark place desperately searching for light.
Nothing that was campaigned against in 2000 was real, nothing.

Not one charge has been laid despite thousands of dollars being paid to  Senior Attorney Anthony Astaphan.

The Government that promised change has failed to live up to that promise, and are instead hard at work doing everything they said they were against prior to being first elected in 2000, and doing it with a vengeance.

The appointment of a Party in Power Supporter (PIPS), Parry Bellot, as a Productivity Consultant with no written terms and conditions of engagement, with no office to work from and at a cost of EC$4,000 to the taxpayers has has left a bitter taste in everyone's mouth, especially the hardworking Public Servants and has had the effect of completely upsetting the population with this Administration.

The Government's tired and overworked spin doctors, having demonized the UWP, deified Skerrit and neutered the press through the use of State advertising and corrupting hiring policies has now found themselves reeling from a now over informed and very involved population.

Their bag of tricks must be nearly empty and it is only thirteen months in, what will they do when someone other that Ian finally goes to drink a glass of cold water or Trevor's moles in Cabinet provides him with more damaging and sensitive information on the workings of the Skerrit Administration?

What?

All shall eat?

The yeast of common purpose, nationhood and unity was squandered early along with the given goodwill, and the lack of substance or anything like leadership emanating from the DLP since the 2000 General Elections is causing formerly managed social cracks to widen in an onslaught of criminal enterprise.

Despite their protestations to the contrary and their many campaign and party events, it is plain to see that this Government will collapse at some point before their term in Office is up; the only remaining questions being time and what will be left to Govern after they're gone.

The light at the end of the tunnel that many mistook to be a salvation is turning out to be disaster, and an oncoming train.

March 11, 2011 General Elections?

Elections season again?

Hartley Henry is back in town. Skerrit is secretly meeting with his advisor and top officials of the Dominica Labour Party. Word from my informants is that Roosevelt Skerrit is looking at a March 11, 2011 General Elections in Dominica.

Why a General Elections so soon after the Decemeber 18, 2009 landslide victory?

Well, we all know that Skerrit is before the Courts accused of holding dual-citizenship, which is a breach of the electoral laws of the Commonwealth of Dominica. The Skerrit Administration has also been accused of widespread allegations since its re-election on December 18, 2009. Accusations of fraud, money-laundering, arson and widespread misuse of public office for personal gain of members of the Dominica Labour Party, family, friends and GIRLFRIENDS.

It is also alleged that there is split within the Dominica Labour Party, with Roosevelt Skerrit having the support of thirteen Members of Parliament and Ambrose George having the support of rest of the DLP Members of Parliament.

Let's try to understand why a March 11, 2011 General Elections would make sense for Roosevelt Skerrit.

Senior Counsel Anthony Astaphan was successful in delaying the electoral petition against Roosevelt Skerrit until March 10, 2011. The SC claimed that the delay was the fault of the petitioners even though  it was the attorneys for the respondent who filed late. Why would the respondents welcome a delay? Why wouldn't Roosevelt Skerrit seek to legitimatize his position in the Government of the Commonwealth of Dominica by seeking a quick decision by the Courts?

We know that the petitioners have a very strong case, and they are expected to be victorious at the Courts.  So what? Why not ask Sam Martin to resign to allow Roosevelt Skerrit to contest the Sourfriere Constituency in a bye-election? Well, reliable sources have indicated that the MP's of Soufriere, Colihaut and St. Joseph have all resisted attempts to have them resign, which leaves Roosevelt Skerrit with only one option, that is to call a snap General Elections.

One of the electoral petitions by the Opposition was the claim of widespread bribery by the ruling Dominica Labour Party. It is alleged that the ruling party paid the airfares of thousands of Dominicans to return to Dominica to vote at the December 18, 2009 General Elections. However, the petitioners failed to convince the Courts have this petitions heard  on a TECHNICALITY.

Word on the ground is that tickets have already been purchased for individuals to travel to Dominica for the next General Elections.

As we indicated above, the opposition failed to convince the judge to have the petition on bribery heard before the Court on a technicality. As such, if bribery is to reoccur it would be expected that the Opposition would do everything possible to ensure that their petition would not fail again on a technicality. Meanwhile, the ruling Labour Party would also ensure that their house is in order! Thus, the reason for March 11, 2011 General Elections.

Carnival 2011 is to be held on March 7 and 8 this year, and we are expecting thousands of Dominicans to return for the celebrations and sewo. Wouldn't it make sense for the ruling Dominica Labour Party to import its overseas based voters at this time under the guise that they are returning to Play Mas? Would the Opposition be able to convince a Judge that people were once again bribed with airfares to return to vote for the ruling Labour Party?

A March 11, 2011 General Elections is a great possibility...

The only other possible date for a General Elections, based on the reason for calling one in March, would be Monday, February 28, 2011.

Something to think about...

Who is the Mole in the Roosevelt Skerrit Administration?

Just last week, we heard Parry Bellot disclosed that even before knowing the contents of his proposed contract as Productivity Consultant to the Government of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Trevor Johnson knew of its contents. Parry Bellot went on to accuse Cabinet members and public servants for leaking information to Trevor Johnson. Parry is correct!

As you already know, Trevor Johnson was accused of being a hacker during the December 18, 2009 General Elections Campaign. However, since the elections we have heard nothing from his main accusers, Anthony Astaphan, Mervin Paul and Charles Savarin. So how is he getting hold of these confidential and damaging documents?

Trevor Johnson is no hacker. The sources of information being disclosed by Trevor Johnson have all come from from the Dominica Labour Party embers of Parliament (MPs) and senior government employees.  These members of (Prime Minister Roosevelt) Skerrit’s cabal  are now very  fed-up of the widespread corruption taking place in the Roosevelt Skerrit Administration. Some members of Skerrit's Cabinet are very embarrassed by the numerous and substantiated evidence of corruption by Roosevelt Skerrit.  There are three MPs who provide Trevor Johnson with info and there are ten senior public servants, who are thought to be Skerrit’s confidantes, who are providing him with information. At this time the names of these soruces would not be disclosed for obvious reasons.

Please stay tuned as more information is released in the coming weeks. It is going to be an interesting drive on the Dominica Political Highway.
